hi,i love the theme,too.but the lightbox-2 doesn’t work properly with Twordder in Firefox.i believe the new version will be more perfect!

I love it but there are problems with the header. Please allow for a longer image size but more importantly the original text overlays any logo uploaded and if you delete the text you loose the Link. The problem varies depending on the browser.

To hide the text log in to the admin and click “header image” under “appearance”. Select “Hide Text” and save.

So I tried out this theme and I think it’s pretty good. Love the colourlovers integration. One thing that is really bugging me though is: why does it keep loading the default grey theme before applying the custom style? (Check my site if you don’t understand what I’m talking about)

With some colours it might not be that big of a deal, but with the colours I have it sort of causes a seizure type flash. D:

It’s because the gray is hard coded into the style.css , then after you select you’re colors style.php is loaded, overriding the default styles. You can go into style.css and hard code your colors in to avoid the “flash”.

I’ll look into ways around this in my next release.

That’d be awesome :3 i’m pretty sure it can be done because AT SOME POINT I ran into another theme that pulled from colourlovers and there was no “flash” type thing. I wonder how much of a pain it is, though. If it’s too much of one, you should charge for the theme then, eh? ;D
I didn’t particularly want to put in all the css stuff because I wanted to be able to go “bleh crazy lime green and magenta and blue. the heck was i thinking. how about that ‘darkness’ theme now….” I stared at the colourlovers API and documentation most of the day yesterday and I still never figured out how random info => parse =>stuff you can kinda work with(but how?!?!) worked out, so, you’re doin well as it is! (oh god forgive me, i haven’t slept in 3 days…)

what language are you using? maybe I can throw you a bone on the random cl api.

Well it was two things I was trying to do–basically what you did but fix the flashy thing myself… but all I could do at this point is just rip most everything off and change the design (maybe?)
The other thing was I was trying to –well that’s not really the API, but I was trying to pull my favourites feed from colourlovers.com and parse it and such. could NOT get it to display the images in wordpress.

Well I know it’s open source, but i’m usually mostly a do-it-yourself-er

and.. I did try using magpie, the updated version, and successfully made a listing of titles. I can’t get the description for the life of me…. I think it’s because their feed is a bunch of backwards arrays (at least from the examples i’ve seen). but I DO have a tendency to make things harder than they are.

side note… did you have a massive ordeal with installing the Disqus plugin for WordPress? it absolutely doesn’t want to take my login… but even aside from that, does this theme play well with the plugin or will i need to tweak stuff?

yes this theme plays fine, no trouble logging for me. the comments numbers don’t work on mine because I use WordPress MU with domain mapping. But it you goto http://johndturner.bandzilla.net they do work.

Question about the gravatar implementation: for some reason people without a gravatar have the gravatar logo as their avatar rather than the “mystery man” image I have selected in my wordpress options. I couldn’t find anywhere in the code that specified that image, so I’m wondering if there’s a way around it.

Hi John! Your theme is FANTASTIC!
I am trying to create a 3 column (2 sidebars) version of your theme but as I am not a real coder I have troubles doing that. Would be great if you could include a 3 column version in future releases:-) Greetings!!!

This theme looks great and I’d really love to use it but I can’t get it to work. Uploaded and activated on a fresh WordPress install (version 2.7.1), all I see is a plain white background with black text – like the stylesheet isn’t being recognized or something. Is there anything special I need for this to work? Thanks for your help!

So just goto to Appearance > Current Theme Option and select “Get New Colors” then upload a bg image if you want to use one.

hi nice theme! i’m using it to, but i could not get colourlovers to integrate, so i just entered the colours manually.

also, i have a problem with the content backgrounds not extending with content.

Hey John!
I used You theme for a friends site offroadtt.com. Its in my native language, but thats not important. We have a little problem – the site works fine with mozilla and google chrome, but when i try to use explorer, there are problems with sidebar and text (on some pages they don’t show). Can You give some advice – what could be wrong? We used the newest wersion of wordpress and Your theme!

Hi John

Great theme! I was wondering if there is a work around so that I can have the same widgets on the blog sidebar and pages sidebar. I see where I am supposed to select which side bar I want to add widgets to, but it won’t allow me to put the same widgets on both sidebars. Any ideas?

Hi Chris, this is actually a limitation of wordpress right now. I think they have addresses this in 2.8 which is supposed to be released this month.

I cant see the background or any images at all on this beautiful theme. I don’t think there are any images included in file you uploaded to wp :(

Hi Ozzy,

This theme actually does not include any. You up the the background image you want to use and select your colors. Just go to “Appearance” > “Current Theme Options”

I’m going to be releasing child themes soon.

I have confirmed it works in IE, in your case it looks like some extra css is added into the post. Are you copy and pasting from Word? All the extra css is messing up the included style sheet.

John, I really like the theme, but I would like to change the header image.

It is trying to crop my image even though it is 200×45, and in the upload process my transparent background gets lost.

I haven’t found where to hard code the header image.

Hi John,
Is there a simple way to reduce the size of the widget once it’s placed in one of the sidebars? The widget overlaps when the sidebar is quite narrow. I noticed there’s a space in the code for customising.
Any help is appreciated.

No simple way. You can use css to resize the widget or make the sidebar bigger in the Theme options.
